Each 3300 NSv extension cable includes silicone tape as a supplementary protective accessory, which serves as an alternative to connector protectors for sealing probe-to-cable connections against environmental contaminants. However, this silicone tape is not recommended for applications where the connection interface may be exposed to turbine oil, as hydrocarbon-based fluids can degrade the tape’s adhesive properties and compromise long-term sealing integrity. This guidance ensures sustained signal reliability and prevents fluid ingress that could adversely affect electrical performance in critical machinery monitoring systems, particularly in oil-lubricated or high-humidity environments where maintaining connector integrity is essential for accurate data acquisition and equipment safety.
