5466-031 Functional Description
Woodward Network Controller Module 5466-031 is a discontinued LON-based I/O controller module whose regular production ended in April 2015. Existing units of Woodward 5466-031 remain available strictly as spare parts for legacy systems and are not recommended for new applications.
The LON architecture, utilized by modules like 5466-031 Woodward LINKNet Controller Module, has been replaced by a new system based on a different network. This new system, requiring both hardware and software changes, uses CANopen-based LINKnet HT nodes with updated part numbers.
While legacy MicroNet systems with certain CPUs can continue using the 5466-031 Controller Module Woodward, systems equipped with a 5200 CPU must update their software to accommodate new node replacements. Consequently, the Woodward 5466-031 module is classified as non-preferred for future system designs.
For optimal capability and support in new systems, transitioning away from the CONTROLLER UNIT 5466-031 Woodward to the modern platform is advised. Therefore, integrating the Woodward 5466-031 NETCON IO CONTROLLER is no longer considered best practice for contemporary installations.
