Reliable Alarm Management with the 3300 Trip Multiply Feature
The 3300 Trip Multiply feature, designed exclusively for vibration monitors, enhances alarm management by allowing setpoints to be increased by a factor of two or three. Activated through a customer-supplied external signal that either shorts or opens terminals at the power supply, it ensures that monitors equipped with this option respond effectively under varying operational demands. To guarantee seamless integration, the Trip Multiply (TM) capability must be specified during the ordering process, enabling comprehensive testing of all critical components within the complete system. It’s important to note that this feature only influences monitors installed in the rack and does not impact meter or recorder outputs. Typically implemented within the 3300 XL system—comprising an 8 mm Proximitor Sensor, extension cable, and 8 mm probe—the Trip Multiply function provides a dependable method for managing alarm thresholds, enhancing overall machinery protection and minimizing unnecessary shutdowns during transient conditions.
