3300-Series 5mm Probe
The 3300-series 5mm probe offers a more compact physical package while maintaining the same side view clearances and tip-to-tip spacing requirements as the 8mm version, making it suitable for installations where space constraints prevent the use of larger probes, though for applications requiring even narrower side view probes, the specialized 3300 NSv Proximity Transducer System should be considered. The 8mm probes provide superior durability with their thicker encapsulation of the probe coil in molded PPS plastic tips and larger diameter probe bodies that create a more robust case, offering enhanced protection against physical damage, which is why we recommend using 8mm probes whenever possible to ensure maximum robustness in demanding industrial environments, while the 5mm version remains a viable alternative when physical space limitations exist. Both probe sizes maintain the same electrical performance characteristics, with the choice between them primarily determined by installation space availability and required mechanical durability rather than measurement capability differences.
