3300-Series 5 mm and 8 mm Probes
The Bently Nevada 3300-series proximity transducer systems are available in both 5 mm and 8 mm configurations, each designed to meet specific application needs. Mixing XL and non-XL components within these systems restricts performance to the specifications of the non-XL version. The 5 mm probe, with its compact packaging, is ideal when physical space constraints prevent the use of an 8 mm probe; however, it does not reduce side view clearance or tip-to-tip spacing compared to the larger design. For applications requiring narrow side view probes, the 3300 NSv Proximity Transducer System is recommended as the optimal solution. Meanwhile, 8 mm probes are constructed with a thicker encapsulation of the coil within a molded PPS plastic tip, providing enhanced durability. Their larger body diameter contributes to a more rugged and robust case, making the 8 mm option the preferred choice whenever possible to ensure strength and reliability.
