1768-PA3 Functional Description
The CompactLogix Power Supplies ROCKWELL 1768-PA3 is a dedicated power supply module for the 1768 CompactLogix system, delivering backplane power to connected controllers and modules. It accepts a wide input range of 85–265V AC or 108–132V DC. This Allen-Bradley 1768-PA3 unit must be installed in the same bank as the controller and is not compatible with 1769 power supplies.
Featuring an open-type enclosure, it supports both DIN rail and panel mounting. The module includes an LED status indicator for real-time operational monitoring. With a maximum input power of 120VA or 120W, the AB 1768-PA3 CompactLogix Power Supplies offers selectable inputs and typical efficiency of 75%.
This 1768-PA3 Power Supply ALLEN BRADLEY is designed to work specifically with 1768 controllers such as the L43, L43S, L45, and L45S. It can support up to eight 1769 I/O modules within the same bank. Proper power supply distance rating is essential to ensure stable backplane power distribution.
A green LED indicates normal operation, while no light may suggest a power issue or fault. A red LED signals invalid backplane power, a defective controller, or a faulty module. The CompactLogix power supply module Allen-Bradley 1768-PA3 includes built-in overcurrent protection with a non-replaceable fuse.
