T8310  Functional Description 

The ICS Triplex T8310 Trusted Expander Processor is a Trusted® TMR Expander Processor Module specifically designed for installation in the processor slots of the Trusted Expander Chassis. Acting as a 'slave' interface, PLC Processor T8310 ICS Triplex connects the Expander Bus to the Expander Chassis Backplane using Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cabling. This configuration ensures that the high-speed and fault-tolerant characteristics of the Inter-Module Bus (IMB) are maintained across multiple chassis setups, offering reliable and efficient system expansion.

At the core of the Processor Module ICS T8310 lies a robust fault containment strategy. The module is responsible for isolating faults within the Expander Bus, the chassis, or the module itself, preventing system-wide failures. Utilizing Hardware Implemented Fault Tolerant (HIFT) architecture and Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) with 3-2-0 voting logic, it ensures maximum uptime while eliminating spurious alarms.

The Trusted TMR Expander Processor  T8310 supports hot replacement and can be configured for both automatic and manual fault recovery. It is equipped with front panel indicators for health and status monitoring and includes built-in diagnostics, continuous testing, and dual 32-bit ARM Cortex-A9 processors. The module also features 2 GB DDR3 RAM, Ethernet, RS-485 communication, and multiple I/O points.
