Flexible Connectivity of PlantCruise Flex Stations
PlantCruise Flex Stations offer versatile connectivity options through either static or rotary connections, allowing users to tailor system access based on operational needs. A static connection provides a permanent, dedicated link to the PlantCruise system, ensuring continuous availability for full-time operators. In contrast, a rotary connection enables an “as required” access model, allowing multiple casual users to connect to the system only when needed. This approach is particularly advantageous from a licensing perspective, as it maximizes software utilization without requiring dedicated connections for each individual. For example, if a system is configured with five Station connections, up to five users can be connected simultaneously. However, the software can be installed on more devices, making it available to many additional users without exceeding the licensed number of concurrent connections. This combination of static and rotary connectivity ensures flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and efficient resource management, allowing plants to optimize both access and licensing for diverse operational scenarios.
