F2DO801 Functional Description
The HIMA HIMatrix F2 DO 8 01 Safety Remote Output Module is a robust safety-related remote I/O module housed in a compact metal enclosure, designed to deliver high-integrity control in demanding industrial environments. Featuring eight potential-free normally open relay outputs, it extends the I/O level for HIMax and HIMatrix controllers via safeethernet communication. Although the F2DO801 Safety-Related Controller Module HIMA does not run user programs independently, it integrates seamlessly into larger safety architectures, ensuring reliable field device interfacing and rapid response in critical applications.
Engineered for rigorous safety requirements, the 1PCS NEW HIMATrix module F2 DO 8 01 has been TÜV-certified for use in applications up to SIL 3 according to IEC 61508, IEC 61511, and IEC 62061, Cat. 4 and PL e under EN ISO 13849-1, and even SIL 4 under EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129. This module operates on a 24 VDC supply with tolerance from -15% to +20% (rPP ≤ 15%), and features a maximum input current of 0.6 A. It supports switching voltages of 5 V up to 250 VAC or 250 VDC, making it adaptable to a wide range of industrial setups.
The safety function of the HIMA F2DO801 Safety Remote I/O Module adheres to the de-energize to trip principle: in the event of a system fault, all outputs safely de-energize, while a channel-specific fault only affects the corresponding output. The built-in FAULT LED provides immediate visual indication, and error codes enable targeted reactions within the user program. Additionally, the module supports energized to trip applications, where outputs are actively switched to maintain safety.
Suitable for installation in Ex-zone 2 environments, the HIMatrix F2DO801 HIMA Safety Remote Output Module has no internal backup battery and requires external 10 A time-lag (T) fusing. With a typical response time of ≥20 ms, it guarantees prompt protective action. Following the detailed instructions in the safety manual is essential to maintain certified safety performance and fully leverage the capabilities of the HIMA HIMatrix F2DO801 within complex safety instrumented systems.

Safety-Related Relay Outputs
The HIMA HIMatrix F2DO801 remote I/O features eight safety-related relay outputs, each controlled by three relays in series—one standard relay and two safety relays with forcibly guided contacts as per EN 50205. This design ensures robust fault detection and safe operation. Each relay output is electrically isolated from the others and from the device’s power supply, with air and creepage distances engineered to IEC 61131-2 standards for overvoltage class II up to 300 V, guaranteeing safe separation. Outputs connect via numbered cable plugs that correspond with markings on the front panel, simplifying identification. The module’s terminals and housing meet IP20 protection; for harsher environments, it must be installed within a properly rated enclosure. When connecting voltages outside SELV and PELV standards, appropriately insulated cables are required. Additionally, each output’s status is clearly indicated by individual LEDs, providing immediate visual feedback on operational conditions.
