1771-OFE1 Functional Description
The PLC Module Allen-Bradley 1771-OFE1 is an advanced analog output module from the PLC-5 family, specifically designed for delivering precise voltage signals. It supports three selectable output ranges of +1 to +5 VDC, -10 to +10 VDC, and 0 to +10 VDC, making it versatile for a wide range of industrial applications. With a 12-bit DAC, the ROCKWELL 1771-OFE1 PLC-5 Analog Voltage Output Module ensures accurate signal conversion and offers a rapid settling time of 0.8 ms for resistive loads. Its internal scan rate reaches 8 ms per channel for BCD data with scaling, or 1.6 ms per channel for binary data without scaling.
This robust module can directly drive modulating devices such as control valves, adjustable frequency drives, dampers, and positioners. Additionally, the 1771-OFE1 Single Slot Allen Bradley can serve as a reliable signal source for data loggers, splitters, panel meters, and single-loop controllers. The module also provides overload protection on each output, safeguarding the system against short circuits and enhancing operational reliability.
Designed for seamless installation, the Analog Output Module 1771-OFE1 AB occupies a single slot in the 1771 I/O chassis and requires no external power, drawing 1.4 A at 5 V directly from the chassis backplane. With a maximum power dissipation of 7.9 W and thermal dissipation of 26.9 BTU/hr, it ensures stable operation in demanding environments. Its rugged build supports operating temperatures from 32 to 140 °F and storage down to -40 °F, withstanding vibration and shock levels typical in industrial settings.
Ideal for critical process applications, the Allen Bradley 1771-OFE1 Analog Output Module performs continuous self-checks and signals faults via dedicated LED indicators. Its optoelectrical isolation of 1500 V protects connected systems from electrical disturbances, making this analog output module a dependable solution for high-performance automation tasks.
