Simplified System Architecture of Procontrol P14
The Procontrol P14 process stations utilize a remarkably efficient design, requiring only two primary module types: the universal I/O module and the universal control module. This streamlined approach covers approximately 80 percent of all power plant control functions, resulting in a system with a clear structure, significantly lower inventory costs, and greatly simplified maintenance procedures.
These core modules are housed within the process station alongside coupling modules for the Human Machine Interface (HMI) and external systems such as MODBUS RTU, PLCs, and third-party equipment. This integrated design offers exceptional operational flexibility, allowing each station to be connected to the remote bus via an optional bus coupler or to function autonomously in a stand-alone mode to suit specific application needs.
