Proximity Probes
Proximity probes are non-contact sensors designed to measure the distance between a probe tip and a conductive surface, commonly used in industrial machinery to monitor vibration, shaft displacement, and position. Operating on the principle of electromagnetic induction, these probes generate a high-frequency magnetic field that interacts with the target surface, producing eddy currents. The resulting voltage is directly proportional to the distance between the probe and the measured object, allowing for highly accurate and real-time monitoring. Proximity probes are essential for predictive maintenance, helping detect misalignment, imbalance, or wear in rotating equipment such as turbines, compressors, and generators. Their rugged design, often featuring corrosion-resistant materials and advanced connector systems, ensures reliable performance in harsh industrial environments, maintaining precision and operational safety while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.
