Advantages of the Segmented Transducer Design
This innovative transducer design strategically separates the sensing element from its signal conditioning electronics, permanently linking them with an integrated cable. This approach eliminates failure-prone connectors, a common source of transducer malfunctions, thereby significantly enhancing overall reliability. A key operational benefit is the flexibility granted by this integrated cable; it allows for the remote mounting of the sensitive signal conditioning electronics in a cooler, protected location, even while the sensing element is exposed to high temperatures. This design enables the capture of high-fidelity machinery performance data, comparable to other Bently Nevada Velomitor transducers, but in environments with significantly elevated temperatures. For applications involving lower temperature extremes, the standard 330500 Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor remains suitable, as it can withstand operating temperatures up to +121°C (+250°F). This segmented architecture ultimately provides a more robust and versatile solution for demanding industrial monitoring.
