AMCI Module Interconnection System
The AMCI module utilizes specialized CRP-(x) shielded ribbon cables (available in 2/6/12 ft lengths) for reliable connections to RB-7/RB-8 relay boards. These factory-tested cables feature keyed IDC connectors that ensure proper one-way insertion, with drain wires requiring termination at designated screw terminals for optimal EMI protection. The interconnection system allows daisy-chaining - the primary RB-8 (CN1) connects directly to the 8213, while secondary boards link through CN2 ports, maintaining clear I/O channel organization (Outputs 1-8 on first RB-8, 9-16 on subsequent RB-7/RB-8). An isolated 24V DC power supply must be properly sized to accommodate both relay boards and connected sensors, with current requirements calculated based on the specific configuration. AMCI strongly recommends using pre-assembled CRP cables rather than custom builds due to the precise shielding and termination requirements critical for maintaining signal integrity in industrial environments. The system's grounded terminal design and polarized connectors provide foolproof installation while supporting the module's high-speed operation.
