Hot-Swap Capability of I/O Module
The I/O Module (IOM) supports Removal and Installation Under Power (RIUP), a key feature designed for uninterrupted operations. This design allows personnel to safely remove or install the module without de-energizing the system, ensuring no damage occurs to the module itself and that IOTA communications remain fully operational throughout the process. However, it is crucial to assess the impact of this hot-swap procedure on the connected active process, as the temporary loss of the specific module's I/O points may affect control loops or monitoring functions.
