IC697PWR711M Functional Description
The General Electric Power Supply Module IC697PWR711M is a robust 100-watt power supply module engineered for the Series 90-70 PLC systems. Designed as a versatile component, this module supports a wide range of input voltages, including 120 VAC, 240 VAC, and 125 VDC, making it adaptable to various industrial power configurations. The primary function of the POWER SUPPLY MODULE Series 90-70 IC697PWR711M is to deliver stable and protected power to the system backplane, ensuring reliable operation of all connected control modules.
This unit provides three distinct and well-regulated DC output voltages: a substantial +5 VDC at up to 20 amps for logic circuits, alongside +12 VDC and -12 VDC for auxiliary components. A key feature of the IC697PWR711M 100-watt power supply module General Electric is its ability to power two separate racks from a single unit using a prewired interconnection cable, provided the total load remains within its 100-watt capacity. This dual-rack capability offers significant flexibility and cost savings in system design and expansion.
Installation of the IC697PWR711M Programmable Controller General Electric is streamlined through its slide-in rack mount construction, and it must be placed in the leftmost slot of the chassis. The module is equipped with comprehensive protection mechanisms, including electronic short circuit and overcurrent protection, as well as a configurable overvoltage protection jumper. These features safeguard both the power supply itself and the sensitive electronics on the rack from electrical faults.
Built for resilience, the Ge FANUC Series IC697PWR711M incorporates power factor correction for AC inputs and is designed to maintain output for at least one input line cycle during a total power loss, allowing for controlled system shutdowns. For continuous operation under extreme conditions of low line voltage and high temperature, some power derating is recommended to ensure long-term reliability and performance in demanding industrial environments.

Power Supply Module
This Power Supply module can operate from either 120 VAC or 240 VAC nominal inputs. It will also oper- ate from a nominal 125 VDC source. The specified range of operation is from 90 VAC to 264 VAC, and from 100 VDC to 150 VDC. For continuous operation (greater than one hour) at low line voltages and high temperatures, some power derating must be applied.
Normal operating range is shown by the shaded area of the graph for 60°C (140°F) installations. Operation in the non-shaded region for specific applications must be limited to <1 hour: Re-ducing the maximum operating temperature to 55°C (131°F) will increase the normal operating range as indicated on the graph.
