Technical Overview of the Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer
The Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a specialized low-frequency variant engineered for precise casing vibration velocity measurement on cooling tower and air-cooled heat exchanger fan assemblies. It is optimized for operational speeds as low as 90 RPM, with a typical application range of 100 to 300 RPM. This instrument effectively captures both vibration amplitudes at these low frequencies and the specific vibration signatures generated by the fan motor and integrated speed reducer. Its performance remains robust across varying environmental conditions, exhibiting a typical temperature sensitivity variation of -8% to +5% over its specified operating range. The transducer offers a substantial velocity measurement range of up to 63.5 mm/s peak, though it is important to note that high-frequency vibration components exceeding 10g peak above 1 kHz can attenuate this effective range. Furthermore, the device ensures highly directional and accurate readings with a transverse sensitivity of less than 5% of its primary axial sensitivity, guaranteeing that measurements are predominantly reflective of the intended axis of motion.
