Reliable Low-Frequency Vibration Detection
The Bently Nevada Low Frequency Velocity Sensor is expertly engineered for hydroelectric turbines, where slow rotational speeds demand sensitive detection of low signal-to-noise ratios. This sensor monitors vibration on stator cores, stator frames, and bearing housing supports, delivering early warnings of potential machinery issues. Operating across a 0.5 Hz to 1.0 kHz range, its two-wire moving-coil design with built-in signal conditioning provides a voltage output proportional to vibration velocity. By installing the Bently Nevada 106765-13 on stator structures, users can identify vibration problems that may lead to winding insulation damage. Additionally, mounting it on bearing housings helps detect component wear before major failures arise. The sensor integrates with the Hydro Monitor and complies with ISO 10816-5 standards for non-rotating parts in hydraulic power plants. Note, however, it is not suited for automated protection or hazardous areas due to inherent capacitance limitations.
