1769-IF4XOF2 Functional Description
The I/O Module 1769-IF4XOF2 Allen-Bradley is a compact analog I/O module with 4 inputs (configurable as single-ended or differential) and 2 outputs, supporting 0-10V DC and 0-20mA signals. It features 8-bit resolution and is compatible with MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix controllers. The Allen-Bradley 1769-IF4XOF2 Analog I/O Module does not provide loop power, requiring an external supply matching transmitter specs. Its differential inputs offer better noise immunity, while voltage outputs reference ANLG COM with a minimum 1kΩ load resistance. Current outputs source up to 300Ω load resistance, ensuring stable signal transmission.
The 1769-IF4XOF2 Analog I/O Module Allen-Bradley uses successive approximation ADC for inputs, converting signals to 8-bit raw data for CPU processing. Input ranges extend slightly beyond nominal (0-10.5V DC, 0-21mA) for tolerance. With ±0.7% voltage accuracy and ±0.6% current accuracy, it suits applications where high precision isn’t critical. Thermal drift is minimal (±0.006%/°C), and 60dB common-mode rejection reduces interference. Outputs deliver 0-10.5V DC or 0-21mA via resistor-string DAC, responding within 0.3ms (resistive load) or 3ms (capacitive load).
Designed for cost-effective integration, the ROCKWELL 1769 Compact I/O Modules supports up to 8 modules per power supply in CompactLogix systems. Its 30V AC/DC operational rating and CE/c-UL certifications ensure industrial reliability. The 290-gram module measures 118x87x35mm, featuring an LED status indicator. While its 8-bit resolution limits high-accuracy uses, it excels in basic process monitoring, such as temperature or pressure sensing, where speed and simplicity are prioritized over extreme precision.
The Compact I/O analog combination module Allen-Bradley 1769-IF4XOF2 balances performance and affordability, ideal for low-criticality automation tasks. Key specs include ±0.4% non-linearity, ±0.5% output accuracy, and 10mA max current load. Voltage outputs require >1kΩ loads, while current outputs tolerate ≤300Ω. With robust noise immunity and compact design, this module streamlines analog signal handling in Rockwell Automation environments, ensuring reliable operation in diverse industrial conditions.

Wiring the Allen-Bradley Terminal Block
When wiring the Allen-Bradley module, always keep the finger-safe cover in place for protection. Begin by loosening the terminal screws, then route the wire under the terminal pressure plate—either as bare wire or using a 6.35 mm (0.25 in.) spade lug. For secure connections, tighten the screws to a recommended torque of 0.68 Nm (6 in-lbs). Each terminal accepts up to two wires, and if needed, a ring lug (max 1/4" outer diameter, min 0.139" inner diameter) can also be used. The terminal screws are non-captive, allowing flexibility in wiring methods. If the finger-safe cover must be removed, carefully pry it off using a screwdriver inserted into one of the square wiring holes. However, once wires are installed, the cover cannot be reattached due to obstruction. Proper wiring ensures reliable signal transmission while maintaining safety and compliance with industrial standards.
