1756-PA75 Functional Description
The Allen-Bradley 1756 chassis 1756-PA75 is a fundamental 75-watt power supply module designed specifically for the ControlLogix automation system. Its primary function is to provide stable and reliable DC power to the chassis backplane, energizing all installed controller and I/O modules. The Allen-Bradley 1756-PA75 is always installed in the dedicated left-most slot of the chassis, establishing the foundation for the entire rack's operation. This standardized positioning simplifies installation and ensures correct system configuration.
A key feature of this power supply is its wide input voltage range, accepting 85-265V AC at 47-63 Hz. This flexibility allows the AB ControlLogix AC Power Supply 1756-PA75 to be deployed globally without requiring hardware modifications for different line voltages. It delivers multiple output voltages, including 5.1VDC at 13A, which is crucial for powering the backplane and modules. The robust design of the Allen-Bradley 1756-PA75 ensures consistent performance in industrial environments with temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius.
The module offers significant operational advantages through its built-in safety and reliability features. It provides specified hold-up times during input power interruptions, allowing for brief power dips without disrupting the controlled process. The ROCKWELL 1756-PA75 ControlLogix AC Power Supply also includes reinforced electrical isolation and a non-replaceable fuse for protection against fire hazards, making it suitable for Pollution Level 2 industrial environments.
In summary, the 1756-PA75 AC POWER SUPPLY AB serves as a critical and dependable power source for ControlLogix systems. Its combination of wide input voltage tolerance, multiple DC outputs, and integrated safety mechanisms makes it an essential component for ensuring system integrity. The reliable performance of the 1756 ControlLogix® controllers 1756-PA75 provides a stable power foundation for continuous and safe automation operations.

Installation Guide for ControlLogix Power Supply
To install a ControlLogix power supply, first ensure the chassis is properly mounted and grounded for safety. Carefully align the power supply module with the dedicated card guides on the leftmost side of the chassis and slide it in firmly until it is fully seated. For certain models like the 1756-PA50, PA50K, PB50, PB50K, PA30XT, and PB30XT, an optional cable retention mechanism is available to provide additional strain relief for the power cable. To install this optional feature, place the power cable into the V-groove located at the front of the power supply unit. Then, thread a standard cable tie through the integrated retainer on the V-groove. Tighten the cable tie securely to prevent the power cable from becoming loose due to vibration or accidental pulls. Finally, trim any excess length from the cable tie to maintain a clean and professional installation, ensuring long-term connection integrity in your industrial control panel.
