I/O Interface
Also referred to as I/O system, the I/O Interface application manages the communication between Totalflow devices and TFIO modules. TFIO connections are supported by remote controllers (RMC-100, XRC), flow computers (XFC), and extendible I/O devices (XIO). It supports the following scenarios:
- Configuration and communication management of TFIO modules directly attached to the device. These are local TFIOs that connect directly to a device’s electronic board or TFIO connectors. The I/O Interface application is added on the device and runs locally.
- Configuration and communication management of TFIO modules attached to a remote device such as the XIO. This scenario can manage modules connected to an XIO from a remote controller. The I/O Interface application must still be added and initially configured on the XIO, but it is also available on the controller for further configuration and management. Applications on the RMC drive the module inputs and outputs as if they were connected directly. This cenario requires successful RMC-XIO communication and the export of the I/O Interface application to the RMC.
