Processor Module
The processor module is designed for installation in RF533 series subracks, built around the Motorola 68040 32-bit microprocessor, it features an integrated FPU, dual MMUs, and separate 4KB instruction/data caches. The module's 64-bit dynamic RAM incorporates cyclic redundancy check for enhanced data integrity.
This processor employs a Futurebus+ interface with 32-bit address/data lines and distributed arbitration. Its redundant configuration capability allows continuous memory synchronization between primary and backup units, enabling immediate failover during system faults. The module provides extensive connectivity through an S100 I/O extension bus interface, compatible with DSBC 174/176 expansion boards.
Front-panel features include comprehensive LED status indicators, mode selector switch, and manual initialization button. The integrated PCMCIA slot supports flash memory cards for system software storage and updates. Available in PM511V08 (8MB) and PM511V16 (16MB) versions, the module's memory capacity is clearly identified through side-panel labeling, ensuring proper system configuration and maintenance.
